It’s not quite as shocking as the five interceptions that Jimmy Garoppolo threw during practice in 2019, but it was reportedly still a rough outing for a second-year quarterback Trey Lance. He threw three interceptions, by multiple reports. One landed safely Discuss Contentthe hands from behind the tip of a cornerback Emmanuel Moseley, who returned to practice today. Then Moseley hauled in a misguided Lance Passage. Finally, a linebacker Fred Warner got his hands on the last interception.

Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area adds that all the interceptions came on passes intended for a wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

Lance has not thrown a pass since last Thursday’s joint practice with the Minnesota Vikings. The 22-year-old quarterback did not suit up during this past weekend’s preseason game against the Vikings.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan plans to play Lance, along with most of the starters, during Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Houston Texans. The 49ers have one more practice scheduled for tomorrow before traveling for that game.
