These Swedish talking bins give seductive thanks

Sweden has introduced talking bins that give a sexy thank you when rubbish is dropped in.

Swedish bins are making headlines for handing out sexually suggestive ‘thank yous’ to anyone who drops rubbish in.

In a YouTube video uploaded by Richard Orange, one of the bins in question can be seen making a comment in a female voice every time the bin flap is opened.

You don’t need to understand Swedish to understand the tone – it’s sexual. Still, Orange clarified in the comments what the bin says, in order:

“It says “come back quickly and do that again”, “hmmm, thank you”, “ooooh, yeah, right there”, and “aaaah, that was crazy good”, and “hmmmm, more”, and then back to “Come back quickly and do that again”,” Orange explained.

Eighteen of the high tech bins were installed in the Swedish city of Malmö in 2017, but only two were able to talk. During the pandemic, the bin reportedly changed its messaging to thanking everyone for keeping a Covid-safe distance.

Now, more bins can speak in both male and female voices – and they’re horny.

Speaking to Swedish publication Sydsvenskansection chief of the city’s roads departments, Marie Persson, explained that the seductive bins were part of a citywide initiative to clean up the streets.

“The sentences are part of the campaign’s intention to get more people to talk about the dirtiest thing there is: littering,” she said.

“The stuff that ends up in our streets, squares, and seas, so please go ahead and feed the bins with more rubbish… yes, just like that.”

The sexy-talking bins were intended to be a “new, humorous way to get across our message”, according to Persson.

”[It’s] a positive reinforcement to people who do the right thing, by giving them a laugh.”

They didn’t get just any voices to bring on the seduction, either. Swedish rapper, Joy, revealed she was the female bin voice.

According to Person, the male is also voiced by someone famous in Sweden, but she wouldn’t say who.

YouTube account Action C, posted their own video of the bins which includes the male voice, so if you happen to know Swedish celebrities, go see if you can work it out.
